I’ve been writing and drawing comics since childhood, and naturally, it’s a lens I’ve applied to librarianship. From the flannel boards I create for storytime (see “mi burro enfermo” to the left) to the displays I’ve built in children’s spaces at libraries, I apply my unique artistic style to my professional work. It’s even gotten into the training documents I write for staff, which I augment with cartoons to make them easy to understand, memorable, and fun.

I’ve written and drawn comics about librarianship, some for myself and some to be used on the job. The dropdown menu above will lead you to some samples of the comics I’ve made about books, reading, people who read, and librarianship.
